These are probably the simplest ways to do on going maintenance
- Grab a lemon, lime or even a grapefruit and cut it into smaller wedges.. Throw them in the disposer and let it run, grinding that sweet smelling citrus into the easiest deodorizer you can find.. Simple Eh?
- Throw some ice cubes in the machine and follow along with some rock salt (if you have it) or sea salt, kosher salt or at worst, some regular salt.. run it and the ice and salt will grab any hidden particles of waste and the ice cubes will sharpen the blades
- Make a volcano mixture..Add a few tablespoons of Baking Soda (yes baking soda is not just for baking, indigestion, refrigerator deodorizer) along with a cup of vinegar.. Let stand for a few minutes and then run the disposal followed up with some fresh water.
